Domestic Violence Report and Referral (DVRR)

In 2014, we launched Domestic Violence Report and Referral (DVRR) in Alameda county hospitals, in conjunction with the Alameda County Family Justice Center (ACFJC) and funding from Blue Shield

The platform:

  • Provides a web based electronic form for domestic violence reporting
  • Enables photos to be attached to the form electronically
  • Includes Risk Assessment to determine homicide risk
  • Establishes electronic link for law enforcement and the DA to access HIPAA compliant stored report
  • Includes patient consent for the ACFJC to call the patients directly to introduce and provide services for the victim and children

DVRR Results

Since the 2014 pilot launch of the electronic Domestic Violence Report and Referral (DVRR) program in Alameda County:

  • The number of ED victims and their children receiving support services improved from 4% to 48%
  • 3 times as many cases brought forward by the DA’s office
  • +1,000 reports filed ensuring legal compliance and enabling seamless
    collaboration
  • 7 hospitals launched with electronic Domestic Violence (DV) reporting, more than 1,000 users

Sexual Assault Reporting form for California e-923

In February 2018, we launched the Sexual Assault e-923 form for California in conjunction with CA Clinical Forensic Medical Training Center (CCFMTC). The CCFMTC has statewide responsibility for managing all forms related to interpersonal violence.

The platform:

  • Provides a web based electronic form for adult sexual assault reporting and storage
  • Statewide access
  • Enables photos to be attached to the form electronically
  • Enables patient consent for de-identified data to be used
    for research purposes
  • Enables aggregated data for all consenting patients to be
    used for analysis and research
